Join Desert Ski Club for a relaxed morning float around Bateman Island and the Yakima Delta.

When: Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Where: Richland's “Columbia Park West” boat ram on Columbia Park Trail, across the street from Rattlesnake Mountain Brewing and Fable Craft Bar.  Click here for directions.

Free boat launch and parking are available.

Why: The Bateman Island Causeway is gone! The Yakima and Columbia rivers are mixing in the delta again, and the water is now flowing free, cooler, and cleaner.

Waterfowl have moved in and can be seen throughout the area. Plus, this time of year is perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding.

Cost and Equipment

Cost: Free if you bring your own float craft.

Bring your own kayak, paddle board, or other suitable float craft.

Rentals are available for approximately $48 for 2 hours, including delivery and pickup at the boat launch.  Click here to reserve a rental kayak.

After the Float

Afterward, we’ll meet for lunch at Rattlesnake Mountain Brewing, also known as Kimo’s.

Lunch is optional and paid individually.
