Looking for a summer day-trip filled with fun and adventure in the great outdoors? Look no further than a float thru the Yakima River Canyon. Get ready for a journey through the heart of Eastern Washington’s natural beauty as you explore the River Canyon on a guided kayaking/rafting/paddle-boarding trip. Soak up some sun, take in breathtaking scenery, and maybe even spot some wildlife. The tall sagebrush-covered hills and basalt cliffs of the canyon provide a breathtaking backdrop for your river float enjoyment.
After a quick shuttle ride, you’ll be ready to catch some rays and enjoy the cool river breeze while floating through the canyon. Keep an eye out for wildlife, if you’re lucky you’ll see majestic bighorn sheep, deer grazing on the river banks and screeching bald eagles soaring overhead.
Halfway through the trip the canyon deepens and you’ll be immersed in breathtaking basalt cliffs. In July, steer your boat close to the cliff faces to see hundreds of tiny mud swallow chicks poking their faces out of their nests.
No prior experience is required for this trip. Your guides will provide a safety briefing and equipment instructions before you depart. All necessary equipment (including kayaks/rafts/paddle boards, life jackets, paddles, and safety gear) will be provided.
