The Desert Ski Club has always had a fantastic time skiing the Utah Canyon resorts.  And since it’s so easy to get there, we’ve decided that we really should go back again this year to visit two of our old favorites.  Yep, it’s time to go back to Snowbird and Alta!

Snowbird and Alta sit in Utah’s Little Cottonwood Canyon where the snow powder is world renowned. Each resort receives over 500” of annual snowfall that is traditionally light, fluffy, and dry which makes it a paradise for skiers and riders. Snowbird and Alta are also two of North America’s most accessible alpine resort destinations, each located just a quick 40-minute shuttle ride from Salt Lake City International Airport. Easy access, deep powder, a variety of terrain, and spectacular scenery make Snowbird and Alta world-famous, “gotta-go-there” ski resorts!

Snowbird offers 85 runs spread over 2,500 acres with a 2,900’ vertical drop.  Alta sits adjacent to Snowbird and offers 2,614 acres of skiable terrain with a 2,538’ vertical drop. Moving between the 2 resorts is easy, they’re connected by inter-resort ski trails and there are also several free inter-resort shuttles that run continuously.

Lodging for the trip will be at the Cliff Lodge at Snowbird. One of North America’s most iconic ski lodges, the Cliff Lodge offers everything you need for the ultimate ski vacation. Enjoy ski-in/ski-out convenience, various amenities, and excellent service for a luxurious resort experience. Each room also comes with a ground-level complimentary ski locker with build-in boot and glove dryers, located steps away from Chickadee chairlift with easy access to the Snowbird Center and Aerial Tram. And they towel-dry your skis for you, nice touch!

The price of the trip includes:

• Short non-stop flight between Pasco and Salt Lake City
• Quick bus shuttle between the Salt Lake airport and Snowbird
• 4 or 5 nights lodging at the Cliff Lodge, including baggage porterage fees (based on 2 people per room; a single supplement option is available if you want a room to yourself))
• 3 or 4 days of skiing (lift tickets purchased separately)
• Private Snowbird Mountain tour
• Welcome happy hour, an après ski pizza party, and a 4-course farewell dinner

Lift tickets must be purchased separately.  The lift ticket options are as follows.

• Full Ikon Pass works at both Snowbird and Alta
• Ikon Base Pass works only at Snowbird
• 20% discount available for Snowbird 1, 2, or 3-day passes (pricing TBD)
• Discount Alta day-pass pricing TBD
